Leslie Lawson -- Screenwriter, Storyboard Artist, Fine Artist

Picture
With a BFA in sculpture and illustration, I began building props and painting backdrops, eventually working as a scenic and set painter for the motion picture industry, as I developed my craft as a storyboard artist and screenwriter.  Learning to manipulate various kinds of paints and materials in the many ways we use them on sets, faux surfaces, etc. has directly informed my technique with regards to my fine art, landscapes and portraiture.  As a result, my paintings, done in acrylic, have the luminocity and feel of oils.

Always inspired by my neighborhood and the people I meet everyday, I continue to make and show my artwork, sculpture and paintings in galleries, while working and living in Los Angeles.

Misc. info - links, stuff like that... & a few things I've learned along the way...

-- a Wacom tablet is not a coaster, despite its alluring surface... and for improved performance, try wiping the coffee stains and food from it.

-- to easily clean the gummy residue left from pealing off price tags, stickers, whatever, try sticking and unsticking a piece of transparent tape a few times... works like a charm, unless it's rough paper of course... then you're probably just screwed.
